Behind the pool, in the newly renovated backyard, is a covered outdoor kitchen and dining area, as well as a natural stone patio next to the house. The curved drive in front of the house surrounds a fountain providing a gracious welcome to arriving guests. The house, furnishings and landscaping have all been designed to make visitors forget they are still in California. It is an Italian-style house with an authentic Italian atmosphere. One of the two Patron Houses is Cress Grove, the home of Cress and Don Bracci. The houses chosen for this year’s luncheon have a variety of views and interesting decor, ranging from refurbished older Spanish and 102-year-old country English to classic Italian, Mediterranean and modern architecture. Tour tickets can be purchased at an additional charge. Guests will be served on fine china, with crystal and silver supplied by Assistance League members who serve as they would in their own homes. Patron Houses will feature extra amenities, including champagne, an extra food course and fashion show.
Wine, cider and appetizers will be served at each home before the lunch. The luncheon, presented by Assistance League of Redlands, is one of Our Town’s traditional events, enjoyed by residents and visitors alike year after year. The reply card provides patrons with an opportunity to indicate their first and second preference of homes in which to attend the luncheon.
